Hometown Dental is a private practice dental clinic owned and operated by the one and only Dr. Jennilee Jamison, also known as Dr. JJ!
A local resident born in High River and raised in Mazeppa, Dr. JJ has travelled across the country and around the world to pursue her education and serve patients. She opened Hometown Dental in 2016 and has loved creating a modern dental office that offers homegrown, family-focused care.
The Hometown Dental office was designed by Dr. JJ herself, and features lots of local flair. Each exam room is named after one of the surrounding towns here in the region, and most rooms feature a large window so you can enjoy natural light during your visit.
Dr. JJ embraces technology to support your family’s smile. Visit our practice today—we’d love to get to know you!
Meet the leader of the Hometown Dental team — Dr. JJ!
I was born in High River and raised east of Okotoks on an acreage in Mazeppa. My 3 younger brothers and I attended Blackie and Highwood High Schools, and then I earned my B.Sc. Co-op degree in Biochemistry at the University of Lethbridge.
I moved to Vancouver to attend dental school at the University of British Columbia and was enrolled in the Canadian military dental officer training program during my first year. I attended boot camp during dental school and, upon graduation from UBC, was posted to CFB Edmonton 1 Dental Unit and promoted to Captain.
During my time with the military, I was sent on many courses in both Canada and the US, and did temporary assignments at other bases such as Yellowknife, Shilo and Suffield.
My most memorable assignment was Pacific Partnership 2011, which was a humanitarian mission with the US Navy. I travelled from Australia to Timor Leste, followed by Micronesia, and finished in Pearl Harbour on the USS Cleveland. During the mission, I treated many patients who didn’t have access to regular dental care.
While I was posted to Edmonton, I also worked in private practice in the evenings and weekends. I retired from the military after 7 years and worked full-time for one year at the same private practice in Edmonton before moving back home. For two years before opening Hometown Dental, I worked in both Calgary and Okotoks as an associate.
In my spare time, you can find me with my husband Wes and our pets Daisy, Dozer, Fred, Ethel and Myrtle. I have 7 fun-loving nieces and nephews and I enjoy camping, travelling, riding my Harley or side-by-side, and playing volleyball, golf, and slow-pitch.
Lorraine, Practice Manager
As the Practice Manager for Hometown Dental, my job is to oversee the office operations while also ensuring our patients and their families love their dental experience!
I have over 23 years of dental experience, including time as a registered dental assistant in my early career! I have worked all aspects of dental administration and have had the opportunity to serve our patients as a Treatment Coordinator assisting them in choosing care that is right for their oral health needs.
My goal is to incorporate my wealth of knowledge in dental and customer service and equip our team to best serve our patients and their families.
When I’m not with my work family, I am at home with my 4 children and husband. I enjoy cooking, entertaining friends, and also spending time with my puppy Carelton (who I spoil all the time).
Delayney, Registered Dental Hygienist
I attended the Toronto College of Dental Hygiene in North York Ontario, graduating in June of 2015 with high honours in academic achievement.
Born and raised a country girl, I was happy to return to my home community of Okotoks and rural lifestyle. Growing up a barrel racer, I value time spent with my horses as well as time spent with my family and friends.
My big welcoming smile will help you feel at home while I work on your smile!
Lacey, Registered Dental Hygienist
I graduated with High Honours from the Ontario Dental Education Institute in 2013 and have been happily making your smiles sparkle since! I then completed a degree in English and Linguistics from the University of Calgary, graduating in 2014.
Raised in Calgary, my husband Jordan and I moved to an acreage North of Okotoks in 2013 and we are loving the country lifestyle. I spend most of my time with my son Jackson and daughter Piper, as well as babying my dogs, Watson the wiener dog and Kahlua (Lulu) the Catahoula.
Kim, Registered Dental Assistant
I am originally from Edmonton, but now I call Okotoks home with my husband Shane. We are busy with our daughter Blake and son Reid, and are also occupied with our fur child, Lola.
Changing career paths from financial to dental was an easy decision for me as I love the interaction with my patients every day. I am passionate about helping others and strive to make them feel the best they can.
I like to stay busy by spending time with my family, sharing my love of animals and keeping active with sports.
Born and raised in Calgary, I am proud to be a part of the small-town family atmosphere at Hometown Dental.
After a long career in the Insurance industry, I graduated from Columbia College in 2011 as a certified level 2 RDA. Since then I have enjoyed every moment of this exciting career. I take pride in helping our patients feel confident about their smiles and assisting Dr. Jamison in caring for you and your family.
If I am not in the back assisting Dr. Jamison, you can find me at the front helping with any questions you might have and getting your next appointment set up. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family.
Tamara, Registered Dental Assistant
I am originally from Red Deer Alberta and received my RDA II certification from Columbia College. My husband Trevor and I live in our newly built home in Calgary with our boxer Rylee. In my off-time, I have a heart for travel, a passion for art, practice in wedding makeup, and love rainy days and long nights of stargazing.
It is truly an honour to be a part of such a progressive team with a strong focus on whole-body health. It brings me great satisfaction knowing that I contribute to my patient’s overall wellness by educating and encouraging healthy lifestyle changes.
Fun fact, I am the oldest out of 10 children!
Helen, Administration
As a dental administrator I have had the opportunity to work in all aspects of dental administration, I have been lucky enough to work in dental for over 30 years. In those 30 years I have worked in several cities, all wonderful, but I can say I am loving being back in Okotoks at Hometown Dental. It really does feel like I am back home. I was lucky to work on Saturdays only, back when the office first opened, and now have been given the wonderful opportunity to come back home full time at the front desk doing what I love.
I really enjoy the business administration role, it gives me the chance to get to know our patients and help them with any of their dental questions or concerns. Please say hi at your next appointment.
In my spare time I enjoy camping, being with my family and friends. I can’t wait to see a bit more of our little world and collect a few more stamps in my passport with my husband.
Jen, Registered Dental Assistant
A little about me… I was born and raised in Calgary, and moved to the Foothills area in 2005. In 2006, I graduated from Columbia College as a Registered Dental Assistant and I am grateful to have found a career I’m passionate about. I strive to make my patients dental appointments as comfortable as possible. It is my goal to provide a positive experience that will have you looking forward to coming back to our clinic. When I am not at work, I try to be outside as much as possible skiing, dirt biking, camping in all seasons, and enjoying life with my husband and two beautiful kids!
Christine, Registered Dental Assistant
I was born in High River and raised outside of Longview. I attended NAIT and completed the dental assisting program in 2010. After completing my program, I worked in oral surgery, orthodontics and general dentistry. My husband, two daughters and I then moved out to the family ranch to become the fourth generation to inhabit the family homestead. I enjoy showing my horses, hiking in the Kananaskis, golfing and curling during the winter. I love being a part of such a great dental team that offers all of the latest dental technology that allows us to offer the best care possible to our patients. I look forward to meeting you in the clinic!
Kristen, Registered Dental Hygienist
I graduated from Regina SaskPolytech in 2014 and have lived in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan since. My husband recently got a job with the Calgary fire department so we moved to the big city in June 2022. I grew up on a farm near a small town in Saskatchewan and loved the lifestyle.
Hometown Dental has that small town feel that gives me that little bit of home away from home.We love camping in the summer and snow sports in the winter. We have 2 fur babies that we are excited to take to the mountains and enjoy the beautiful scenery!
Lisa, Denturist
I was born and raised in Calgary and graduated from the Denturist Program in Edmonton in 2014. I currently work at a denture clinic in Calgary, while also being fortunate to be a part of the Hometown team once a week!
I enjoy getting to know my patients and taking the time to address individual needs- whether that involves problem solving for better function or creating an esthetic smile. I work hard to keep up to date with current technology and innovative solutions.
While I’m not at work, I’m spending time with my family, including 5 energetic nieces and nephews. I like to stay active outdoors with skiing, golfing, camping, and playing soccer.
